Scraps.

Scraps.
What do you do with yours?
Do you like sewing with scraps or do you like working within a range?
Scraps.
I seem to have lots of them.
Varying in size and shape.
Some are tiny but they are still cherished.
This year is very much a finishing off year.
Encouraged by my friend Kate, we are cheering each other on to a few finishes.
Some big, some a bit smaller, and some which have me scratching my head as to why, when the finish was so close, it was put aside. I bet you are nodding!
So this week saw me appliqué the last six circles on my circle game quilt, which I actually thought I had done.
And add binding to this simple quilt. It was intended to look like an old and much loved eiderdown...I am happy with it.
And I have been playing in my scrap bins.
Some fabric is always purchased, no point in lying, but it is to fill known gaps as I really want to use the fabrics that I have purchased and still love.
So I continue with my Smitten quilt and am diving into my scraps...it all looks a bit scrappy, but that is the point.
It will document the journey fabric has taken me on, and show where I am going.
Must finish this beauty too...

Cardygirl xx

I agree with you about the scraps! That is my primary aim for 2015- to use the fabrics I have! And yes again to finishing that last quilt! Love those spots!

I am trying to make my EPP star quilt with scraps, but decided I could bend the rules and buy fabric for it if I visit a shop I haven't been to before as a momento. I have to buy something to remember the visit and it's better than starting another UFO. Your eiderdown quilt is very soft and pretty. Looks like Aris wants that one. Love the Circle Game and octagons. Glad to see your making some time to sew.

I am glad to see that I am not the only person with lots of WIP. Your scraps and scrappy quilts are wonderful! I love scraps too...I rarely buy a whole range of fabric. I am definitely Scrappy Happy!

Those quilts are gorgeous Alison. And I love the one that your pussycat has made home. Really pretty colours.

Scraps seem to multiply and breed in my stash, as hard as I work to use them! I love using them, but each project just seems to result in my scraps, it is a fabric roundabout that I never want to get off! Love your projects, your use of colour is very inspiring.

You are not in your own with those almost finished projects. good to finish them off eventually. Your pussy cat seems very happy with his new quilt!

I love your Smitten blocks....and I think your scraps can tell a lot about your quilty journey...I just keep adding scraps to the scrap basket - must go and have a look at what's in the bottom of it one day! Lots of memories in fabrics used (and in still in the stash!)

Omg you should see the scrap quilt fairy girl has been making..... .. It does not look like you EPP......she wants to make it a bit longer... it is about 60 square now....her whole purpose was to sew bits of fabric together........
I recognise the bottom one... Would love to see it finished.......
Might be down your way this week.....

Love scrappy quilts. They are filled with cheer and fun and always so interesting. However I admit to not liking to use the same fabrics over and over so I often gift my scraps then start a new bin. :o) Your projects are all so wonderful. Looks like some of them are kitty approved too!

I keep telling myself that it is time for another scrappy quilt. Then I go out and buy new fabrics!

The scrappier the better. I save all me scraps, some of which go into the next quilt. I guess I just love colour, texture and serendipity. Nothing has to match :-)
